Description
Initial Contact and Adult Access gives information and referrals to connect people to county and community resources.
Call Center staff do initial screening and intake for county-operated programs, including:
* Initial Contact and Adult Access Service Planning
* Adolescent Parent Unit
* Adult Behavioral Health - mental health and chemical dependency services
* Children's Mental Health and Children's Day Treatment
* Early Childhood Services
* Birth to Three screening and services
* Children's Mental Health Crisis Services
* Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies (COPE)
* Homeless Access Unit

Eligibility
None for general assessment and assistance. If needs are identified for ongoing services, specific program eligibility criteria will apply.
Some cases may be opened to a service planner for 90 days or less to arrange community services or assess eligibility for ongoing case management.

Programs that coordinate access to outpatient mental health services and/or psychiatric hospitalization and residential treatment facilities in a community by evaluating the nature and severity of an individual's mental health problem, determining which service response would best meet the needs of the patient, doing an eligibility assessment, and providing a referral to (or facilitating placement in) an appropriate program or facility. Mental health triage services may be located in an emergency department, community mental health service, call center or co-located with other specialized mental health services.
